Conservative Progress delivers digital training at Conservative Party’s South West Conference

Conservative Progress were invited to deliver a training session on ‘digital campaigns and social media’ to 250 Conservative Party councillors, candidates, constituency officers and activists, at the Party’s South West Regional Conference in Plymouth, where speakers included Sajid Javid, Priti Patel and many others.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid delivered the keynote speech to Tory activists from across the South West region

During the 45-min session, we touched on the importance of digital campaigning and the use of social media. This included setting up and running campaign Facebook pages, Facebook posts, graphics and videos and online advertising, as well as the use of Twitter, WhatsApp and surveys and petitions, to help our candidates harness the power of digital to win elections.

The response both in the room and afterwards was fantastic, and we have already had activists coming forwards to find out more, or to share their ideas with us.

Since 2017, we have delivered digital training for over 550 Conservative activists, including a digital training day for the South West region in Exeter, a digital campaigning masterclass in London, a session at the Party’s youth conference in Birmingham, and bespoke training for a number of associations.
